Dolores Vaughn mourned

DOWNEY - Dolores Vaughn was born on June 19, 1925 in Huntington Park and died on Feb. 8 in Long Beach. She attended Huntington Park High School in Huntington Park.Dolores lived in Downey for 64 years in the same house. She was the last original owner of her home on her street. She was the third oldest of eight children. She had six brothers and one sister. She worked for Yellow Taxi Cab as a dispatcher and for Realms as a Rosie the Riveter. She was a member of Downey United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sandra Vaughn; daughter and son in law, Brenda and Dale Warner; grandchildren and spouses Robert and Jennifer Vaughn, Kristine and Jonathan Hughes, Alicia and Ryan Edquist; great grandchildren Brittny, Tyler, Kaylynne and RJ Vaughn and Makayla Edquist. Two surviving siblings are her brother, Richard Cisneros of California and sister, Angela Amador of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Vaughn of almost 54 years. Memorial services were held on Feb. 15 at Rose Hills. Interment will be on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Rose Hills at 3 p.m. at the Terrace of Hope lawn. Reception will be held after the Interment at Downey United Methodist Church for friends and family.
