Downey considers becoming Special Olympics host city

DOWNEY – The city of Downey is hosting an informational meeting Thursday, June 26, to consider possibly becoming a host town for the 2015 Special Olympics. As a host city, Downey would provide hotel accommodations, meals and training locations to 100-120 Special Olympic athletes.

The meeting starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center. For more details, call (562) 904-7166.
