Franklin O’Brien mourned

DOWNEY – Franklin (Frank) O’Brien, 82, passed away June 25 at his Downey home. He was born Oct. 12, 1931 in Lynn, Mass. He lived and raised his family in Salem, Mass. before moving to Downey with his wife, Marcia, in 1982.

Franklin worked at the former United Shoe Machinery Corporation in Beverly, Mass. for nearly 20 years. After moving to California, he worked for Madico, Inc. in Huntington Beach until he retired at the age of 70 in 2002.

Franklin was predeceased by his parents, James F. (Obie) and Margaret O’Brien; his brother, Thomas (Barry); his wife, Marcia; and his son, David.

He is survived by his brother, Bruce; daughters, Pamela Hall and Lynda Dennehy; son-in-law, Dennis Dennehy; and grandchildren, Kristin and Matthew.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26, at 5 p.m. at the Redeemer Covenant Church in Downey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to the American Humane Society, Wildlife Conservation Society, Animal Welfare Institute or the Sierra Club Foundation.
