Affordable Care Act

Dear Editor:To all those who think John Boehner, House Speaker and Republican from Ohio, is a bad guy for demanding that parts of the Affordable Care Act should be repealed, note some of the significant changes in January 2014 to my son's benefits with Blue Shield. His yearly deductible will be increased from $900 to $5,000 a year, a doctor visit will be $60 instead of $40, urgent care visits go from $40 to $120, and emergency service from $100 to $300. Instead of $4,900 calendar year out-of-pocket expense, my son will have to pay $6,350 - the maximum cost allowed under Covered California. By the way, my son's monthly premiums will be reduced from $305 a month to $281.40 - a mere $23.60 for a great reduction in benefits. I called Blue Shield and they confirmed that the increase in costs and reduction in benefits is due to Obamacare that will take effect in January. Is this truly an Affordable Care Act?
