Conspiracy myth

Dear Editor:I was under the impression that the Flat Earth Society had finally died off, but apparently not. Mr. Sandoval's letter claiming that NASA's moon landings never happened is just another tired old "government conspiracy" rant. Mr. Sandoval claims that none of the photos taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) launched in June 2009 show any lunar landing sites because no such sites exists. Yet, immediately after reading his letter, I did a 2-minute Google search and found a wealth of photos taken of a number of Apollo landing sites, showing actual artifacts of NASA's manned flights to the moon. In fact, one of the stated objectives of the LRO is to create a high resolution map of the entire lunar surface to aid in selecting potential future lunar landing sites. Because this information is so readily available to the public, I am very disappointed that you perpetuated the NASA conspiracy myth by publishing Mr. Sandoval's letter. Arnie Richards Downey
