Disney gives Rancho $30K

DOWNEY - Rancho Los Amigos Foundation was one of 144 Southern California non-profits to receive a portion of $820,000 in grants provided by employees of Disneyland.The Rancho foundation supports programs at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey to help people with disabilities. More than 40 patient programs are offered to help increase self-esteem and confidence for patients with disabilities. The grants were funded entirely by Disneyland employees through regular payroll deductions or one-time donations. Workers who contribute during the year can nominate an organization for a grant of up to $5,000. In honor of the program's 25th anniversary, Disney is donating an additional $25,000, bringing the total donation to Rancho Los Amigos Foundation to $30,000. "I'm incredibly proud of our cast members for their contributions to the Disney VolunEARS Community Fund," said Michael Colglazier, president of Disneyland Resort. "In addition to the pride they feel from donating their time as volunteers, cast members can also feel empowered by helping to provide significant funds to their favorite organizations."
