Man charged accused of stabbing homeless men
GLENDORA - A Glendora man was arraigned Monday on two counts of capital murder in the fatal stabbing of two homeless men whose bodies were discovered near a Glendora car wash last week.Drew Alan Friis, 28, is charged with two counts of murder with the special circumstance of multiple murders. Prosecutors will decide later whether to seek the death penalty. Friis allegedly attacked John Anthony Welch and Warren Jay Blagrave about 2 a.m. on Aug. 15 in the 200 block of W. Route 66. Friis allegedly stabbed each victim more than 20 times. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A resident who heard screams flagged down a Glendora police lieutenant, who discovered the bodies. Friis is being held without bail.
