Native plants

Dear Editor:I am so impressed by Ms. Montero's creative and thoughtful California native plant project at Dennis the Menace Park. Excellent work, Mariah! I am a fan of native plants and especially love their aromatic fragrances. My family and I usually have to go to the coast and mountains to enjoy them, and it's wonderful to be able to experience them now in our own backyard. Many thanks to the Girl Scouts, Downey Parks & Rec, and all of the educators and businesses who helped make Mariah's great idea a reality. Lubna Walford Downey
