Warren High robotics team competes in 'Metal Crush'

DOWNEY - Warren High School's robotics team finished in second place behind Mt. San Antonio College at the inaugural "Metal Crunch 2013" put on by the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA) Training Center in Sana Fe Springs last week.Metal Crush 2013 was the first competition of its kind on the west coast for NTMA, pairing robots made by high school students from across Southern California to compete in fighting machines. "It was really cool and fun to see our idea work, we learned a lot during the matches," said student coach Victor Hernandez. With more than 15 teams battling for the title, Warren High competed with its battlebot "unBEARable Pain." The robotics team is made up of Warren Project Lead the Way engineering students and is coached by engineering teacher Glenn Yamasaki.
