Carrie Uva earns BizFed PAC and Los Angeles County Taxpayers Association endorsements
DOWNEY — Carrie Uva has earned the endorsements of BizFed PAC and the Los Angeles County Taxpayers Association in her campaign for Downey City Council District 4.
The endorsements add business and taxpayer advocates to Uva’s coalition of supporters as she campaigns on public safety, fiscal responsibility, support for local businesses and protection of residents’ quality of life.
BizFed PAC is the political action committee affiliated with the Los Angeles County Business Federation, an alliance of business organizations that advocates for economic growth and job creation. The Los Angeles County Taxpayers Association advocates for taxpayer protection, government accountability and responsible use of public funds.
Uva’s professional and civic background includes more than 30 years of legal and real estate work in Downey, along with leadership roles in business organizations and city oversight bodies.
As a former president and current board member of the Downey Chamber of Commerce, Uva has worked with local business owners and understands the importance of a thriving business community to Downey’s economy. Her campaign priorities include supporting small businesses and maintaining a city government that listens and responds to residents and employers.
Uva also chairs the citizens’ oversight committee for Measures S and D. That experience informs her commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparent government and accountability for how public money is spent.
A lifelong Downey resident, Uva has served on the Planning Commission since 2021 and is its current chair. She is an attorney specializing in wills and trusts and a licensed real estate broker.
Her community service also includes serving as a Neighborhood Watch captain and an executive board member of Downey’s Community Emergency Response Team.
Uva is seeking to bring that combination of professional experience, financial oversight and community involvement to the City Council, with a focus on safe neighborhoods, a strong local economy and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
The election is Nov. 3.
