Five labor organizations endorse Lissette Rivera for Downey City Council District 4
DOWNEY — Lissette Rivera, candidate for Downey City Council District 4, announced endorsements from five labor organizations representing working men and women throughout Southern California.
Rivera has received the support of Teamsters Joint Council 42, IBEW Local 11, IBEW Local 47, Operating Engineers Local 12, and Operating Engineers Local 501.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the support of these hardworking men and women,” Rivera said. “Their members help build, power, maintain and move our communities every day. I value the work they do and the opportunities that good-paying jobs provide for families.”
Rivera said her campaign is focused on supporting local businesses and jobs, maintaining streets and infrastructure, strengthening public safety, and ensuring that residents have a responsive voice at City Hall.
“Downey is a community of hardworking families, small business owners, veterans and seniors,” Rivera said. “I want to make sure our city continues to be a place where families can build a future, businesses can succeed, and residents know their city government is working for them.”
Rivera is a longtime Downey resident and small business owner who previously served on Downey’s Citywide Public Works Committee. She is also co-founder and president of War On Lethal Fentanyl (WOLF), an organization focused on fentanyl awareness and prevention. Rivera is the wife of a U.S. Navy veteran and mother of four.
Rivera is a candidate for Downey City Council District 4 in the November 3, 2026 election.
