Delores "Dee" Jean Bacus
Delores " Dee" went home peacefully to be with the Lord on October, 15th, 2026. Dee was a devoted wife, mother, and Loving Grandmother, beloved family member and a dear friend to many of those in the Downey community. Dee's life was deeply rooted in Faith, Family, and Downey.
Dee was known for her Fireball spirit, generous heart, and love of community. Dee created many friendships throughout the years with all ties to our loving community.
Dee was a small business owner of Saywell Florist in Downey for over 35 years, she retired in 2013 after the passing of her beloved late husband Mark, to continue to care for her Mother.
Dee's faith has remained an important part of her life, but she was not a morning person, and felt more at comfort with her Lord in her pajamas, with a cup of tea, and at her own spiritual pace.
Dee is survived by her son Steve Lofing, her niece Christine Black, grandson Stanley Adam, who cared for her the past 12 years, Stepdaughter Mia Vasquez-Zimmerman, Stepson Saul Vasquez, and grandchildren Kelli Lofing, Brian Lofing, Robert Rennie, Great Grandchildren Amber Adam and Steven Blair, as well as sons, Tim Turner and Lewis Brock.
Her extended family included Jerry, Cherie, Yanira, Vanessa, Nora, Tami, Kristina, Justin, Hanalei, and Frankie, whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded by her husband Mark, her parents Eugene and Millie, Brother Bruce, Stepson Mark, Grandson Steven, niece Vanessa and daughter Cynthia.
Downey had a special place in her heart, she strived for order, growth, and success in her community with her many years of involvement in the local chamber of commerce, rose float association and numerous city committees. Please keep her memory alive by Keeping Downey Beautiful.
