Downey Arts Coalition art exhibit featured at free Downey Symphony concert
DOWNEY — The Downey Arts Coalition art exhibit “Thrive” is featured in conjunction with the Downey Symphony Orchestra’s free “Viva La Musica” concert performance Saturday, October 24, at the Downey Theatre.
Curated by DAC’s talented curator Andrew Hernandez, the exhibit features almost 100 art pieces by local artists. Hernandez is pictured above with one of his own photographs on display.
The “Thrive” art exhibit begins at 5:30 pm. The pre-concert talk begins at 6:15 pm. The Downey Symphony Orchestra concert begins at 7 pm. The art exhibit is available for audience members before the concert, at intermission, and following the concert.
Launching DSO’s 26/27 season, the concert itself celebrates Spanish-inspired music, a composition written for the city’s orchestra and the beginning of Music Director Sharon Lavery’s 20th anniversary season:
