Downey man killed after car plunges into reservoir

DOWNEY — A 43-year-old Downey man was killed when his vehicle veered off the road and fell into the Morris Reservoir in Glendora last week.

According to Patch, the driver of the car was identified as Mario Andrade, of Downey.

The crash was reported April 16 at 10:30 a.m. on the 9500 block of N. San Gabriel Canyon Road.

Authorities said Andrade’s vehicle veered off the road and plunged 300 feet into the reservoir. Andrade was ejected from the vehicle and killed.

Divers searched the reservoir and found no other victims.
