DOWNEY — The Downey Día de Los Muertos Art Festival will return for its 13th year Nov. 1, bringing art, music, dance, food and cultural activities to the Downey Theatre and surrounding grounds.

The free festival will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Downey Theatre, 8435 Firestone Blvd. Admission and parking are free.

Organizers say the annual event draws more than 20,000 visitors from across Southern California and has been recognized by the state for its support of local artists and performers.

This year’s festival will again include fine art exhibitions, ballet folklórico and mariachi performances, interactive art activities, community altars, artisan vendors, food trucks and family programming.

Traditional Día de Los Muertos elements, including ofrendas and papel picado, will also be featured alongside live music and hands-on workshops.

The festival is one of the Downey Theatre’s largest annual community events.

Additional information is available through the Downey Theatre’s Día de Los Muertos festival website and social media channels.
