Glass recycling

Dear Editor:In a recent newspaper article, details are discussed regarding the economics of glass recycling and that in several cities in the U.S., glass is piling up in landfills because there isn't a market for recycled glass. Can Cal-Met respond to Downey residents and tell us what happens to the glass we recycle in our blue Downey recycle barrel? - Ms. Jimmie Renner, Downey
