Letter to the Editor: Mediocre improvements on Woodruff
Dear Editor:
At a cost of nearly $6 million, the City of Downey approved a Woodruff Avenue Street Improvement Project that is finally being completed yet looks mediocre and half finished.
The entire Woodruff Avenue median between Imperial Highway and the 105 Freeway is "landscaped" with nothing but rocks glaring in the sun. This is a lost opportunity to have planted some more much needed native plants and trees to beautify and provide shade and pollution abatement, and offer continuity with the stretch between the 105 and Foster Road.
We in South Downey deserve better. I hope the city plans to remedy this nonsense.
