Moon landings

Dear Editor:On April 4, the "Oprah Winfrey Show" went to a Mormon commune in Utah to see how they live and try to understand their way of life. Oprah asked their teacher if it's true that they do not inform the children that we landed on the moon. The teacher stated that they do not teach that we did not land on the moon, they just do not say that we did. In Downey schools, we do not mention the moon landings at all. It's not in our school's history books. Ask any history teacher. To prove this, just ask your child or children how many times we allegedly landed on the moon and how many moon rovers are on the moon. Ninety-eight percent will not know the answer. The answer is six landings and three rovers. By the way, most adults don't know either. - Mike Sandoval, Downey
