Rancho Los Amigos to host 40th Spinal Cord Injury Games

DOWNEY – Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center will host its 40th annual Spinal Cord Injury Games on Saturday, Sept. 26, celebrating adaptive sports and the achievements of people with spinal cord injuries.

The free community event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Don Knabe Plaza on the Rancho Los Amigos campus, 7601 Imperial Highway in Downey.

Activities will include quad rugby, handcycling, wheelchair courses, basketball, tennis, rock climbing, golf, bowling, pickleball and a football accuracy throw. A Kiddie Corner also will be available for families.

Organizers said the event is intended to celebrate wellness, adaptive sports and the accomplishments of individuals with spinal cord injuries.
