Man fatally shot in Pico Rivera

PICO RIVERA — A man was fatally wounded in a shooting Thursday in Pico Rivera, prompting a homicide investigation by sheriff's detectives.

The shooting was reported about 5:15 a.m. in the 9500 block of Aldrich Street in a residential area west of the San Gabriel (605) River Freeway and south of Whittier Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's Lt. Michael Modica was the lead investigator on the case.
