Mayor Pro Tem Horacio Ortiz endorses Carrie Uva for Downey City Council

DOWNEY — Mayor Pro Tem Horacio Ortiz has endorsed Carrie Uva for Downey City Council, adding his support to a growing list of city leaders backing her campaign.

“I’m proud to wholeheartedly endorse Carrie Uva for City Council. Together, we served on the Planning Commission that helped move forward significant investment and responsible development. I saw firsthand how hard Carrie works, how seriously she takes public service, and how deeply she loves Downey.”

Uva has also been endorsed by Mayor Claudia M. Frometa and Councilmembers Dorothy Pemberton and Hector Sosa.

Uva and Ortiz served together on the Downey Planning Commission, where they worked on development and investment proposals before the city. Uva is also a longtime Neighborhood Watch captain and has made community safety a focus of her campaign.

The endorsements reflect support from city leaders with experience in local government and planning as voters prepare to choose Downey’s next City Council representative.
