Last week I noticed the six trees on Horley Avenue behind Griffiths Middle School were marked with an “X” and the letters “USA”; I wasn’t quite sure what that meant. I noticed Saturday afternoon that the trees were tagged with “No Parking” signs, so I took a closer look.
Much to my daughter’s and my disappointment, the trees were tagged for removal on Monday morning. This was very upsetting and concerning to us.
I just finished reading Mr. Guerra’s editorial on Donald Trump’s statements on illegals.
Needless to say I am sick and tired of these gutless politicians demagoging a topic and then pandering to a constituency, crying that all they are here for is to do the jobs Americans won’t do, and that they boost the economy. That is crap. They are doing the jobs Americans want to do, but can’t because illegals are doing them for far less.

Like most Californians, I am a fervent supporter of meaningful efforts to combat elephant poaching and cracking down on the black market trade for ivory.
However, as an attorney and resident Californian, I am very concerned about a bill moving through the state legislature that disingenuously claims to attack the illegal ivory trade while at the same time tramples on the most fundamental of constitutional rights.
